Exploring the World of Bugs: A Hands-On Learning Journey in Nursery Tiger Class

Written by Ms. Kate, May 2026

At the beginning of this unit, the Nursery Tiger class was introduced to the exciting world of bugs through stories, songs, and sensory exploration. The children were immediately curious and eager to share what they already knew, while also asking questions about ants, bees, butterflies, and ladybugs.

Throughout the unit, we engaged in a wide range of hands-on activities that integrated art, craft, science, math, and literacy, helping children connect more deeply with the topic. We counted ladybug spots to strengthen early numeracy skills, practiced ABAB patterns inspired by caterpillars, and explored symmetry by creating butterfly wing designs. The children worked collaboratively like ants, building teamwork and communication, and navigated a sticky spiderweb activity that supported their physical coordination and problem-solving skills. They also created a bee habitat, learning about where insects live and the importance of caring for nature.

In addition, children expressed their learning through drawings, storytelling, and role play, which supported their language development and creativity. These experiences encouraged curiosity, independence, and confidence as they explored the natural world.

Overall, this unit was a joyful and meaningful journey, allowing children to explore, create, and discover through play and inquiry.

Year 1 Lions: Childlike Curiosity, Growing with Joy✨

Written by Ms. Kylie, May 2026

Immersed in a vibrant campus learning experience, our first-grade “Little Lions” embrace every moment with enthusiasm, gaining endless joy and remarkable growth along the way.

In English class, they explored different modes of transportation and took part in lively discussions about “what I can do” and “what I can’t do.” The Lions eagerly raised their hands, bravely shared their imaginative ideas, and even became young authors by writing their own short stories. While some are still polishing their grammar and spelling, that has never dampened their excitement for confident self-expression and brave communication.

From learning the alphabet and building vocabulary to forming sentences and crafting stories, the Little Lions are making steady progress—step by step. Their clear growth path reflects the continuous improvement of their comprehensive English skills.

In science class, the Little Lions’ curiosity was truly ignited. They deepened their understanding of the vast universe, and the fascinating concept of “gravity” filled the classroom with laughter. Acting as little astronauts, they shared what they would like to bring—and what they absolutely need—on a space trip, and even designed their own one-of-a-kind rockets.

Get ready! Let’s follow the little lions, set off bravely towards the vast universe, and explore the wonderful unknown freely!

EYFS & Primary PE: Skills, Teamwork & Growth Through Play

Written by Ms. Vicky, May 2026

Over the past months in PE, our EYFS and Primary students have been developing a wide range of physical, social, and teamwork skills through fun and engaging activities aligned with the Cambridge curriculum.

In EYFS, students focused on movement exploration, body awareness, balance, coordination, and cooperative play through circle games, partner activities, obstacle courses, and rhythm-based movement. The lessons encouraged confidence, communication, and enjoyment while helping students improve their gross motor skills in a playful environment.

In Year 1, students continued building their fundamental movement skills through running, jumping, throwing, catching, and cooperative games. Activities focused on improving coordination, control, and teamwork while introducing students to simple game situations and challenges.

In Years 2 and 3, students worked on more advanced movement patterns and sport-specific skills through units such as Field Hockey and Cooperative Games. During Hockey lessons, students practiced stick control, dribbling, passing, ball control, and shooting accuracy through small-sided games and skill stations.

Across all year groups, teamwork, communication, respect, and positive participation remained a key focus of our PE programme.

It has been wonderful to see the students becoming more confident, active, and engaged while continuing to develop healthy habits and a positive attitude toward physical activity.
