Dear BIS Community,
What a wonderful week it has been at BIS! Our Book Fair was a huge success! Thank you to all the families who joined in and helped foster a love of reading across our school. The library is now bustling with activity, as every class is enjoying regular library time and discovering new favorite books.
We’re also proud of our student leadership and voice in action as our students have begun giving thoughtful feedback to our canteen team to help improve our meal offerings and ensure we’re serving food that’s both nutritious and enjoyable.
A special highlight this week was our Character Dress-Up Day, where students and teachers alike brought storybook heroes to life! It was a joy to see the creativity and excitement that reading inspires. Our secondary students have also stepped up as reading buddies for our younger learners, a lovely example of mentorship and community spirit.
Looking ahead, we have more wonderful opportunities to connect and give back. Next week we’ll celebrate our Grandparents’ Tea, a new BIS tradition where we honor the love and wisdom of our grandparents. Additionally, Year 4 will host a Charity Disco to support a young man in our local community who needs his wheelchair repaired. Our older students will volunteer as DJs and helpers, ensuring the event is inclusive and meaningful for everyone.
To close out the month, we’ll have a fun and festive Pumpkin Day Dress-Up to celebrate the autumn season. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative costumes and community spirit shine once again.
Thank you for your continued support in making BIS a place where learning, kindness, and joy thrive together.
Warm regards,
Michelle James
