Dear BIS Community,
As we come to the end of Term 1, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of our students. They have worked incredibly hard, completed their exams with focus and determination, and grown in so many meaningful ways over these past months. We are proud of each and every one of them.
This week has been filled with joy and festive spirit across campus. Our Home Alone Movie Day was a wonderful highlight. The students loved coming to school in cozy clothes and enjoying a classic holiday film together. In EYFS, children delighted in cookie decorating, a sweet and creative celebration that brought big smiles and plenty of sprinkle-covered masterpieces. And of course, our Winter Concert is a truly special moment. The students’ performances are heartfelt, confident, and filled with the joy of the season. Thank you to all our families who attend and support this memorable event.
As we head into the winter break, we encourage all students to take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy family moments. We also want to remind everyone to continue nurturing learning habits over the holiday. Reading daily— even just 20 minutes —helps students maintain and strengthen their skills. We also recommend having students listen to English over the break by watching their favorite shows dubbed in English to continue building listening fluency in a fun and natural way.
To all families traveling over the holiday, we wish you safe journeys. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus on January 5. We will begin the new term with assemblies, important grade-level updates, and reminders to help students start Term 2 focused and ready for success.
As always, we remind families that the strongest indicator of student success is prompt and consistent attendance. Establishing strong routines from the first day back will set students on the right path for a productive and positive second term.
Thank you for your partnership and for making our BIS community such a vibrant, caring place to learn and grow.
Wishing all of you a warm, joyful, and restful winter break.
We look forward to seeing you in 2026!
Warm regards,
Michelle James
