Nursery lion cubs Celebrates Learning and Joy This Season

Written by Ms. Paris, Oct. 2025

Our class has been buzzing with creativity, collaboration, and cultural exploration this term, bringing innovative teaching to life for our youngest learners.

Weve embraced hands-on learning to make concepts tangible: children explored toy functions, mastered organization skills through playful sorting, and built language confidence by using Mandarin in daily interactionsturning simple conversations into exciting language wins.

Cultural connection took center stage during Mid-Autumn Festival. Students listened to the charming “Mid-Autumn Rabbit” story, created watercolor rabbit rubbings, and shaped clay into tiny mooncakes, blending storytelling, art, and tradition seamlessly.

A highlight was our “Little Lion Care” activity: learners worked together to identify room functions, care for their stuffed lion friend, and solve “where does it belong?” “How to take care of little lion”puzzles. This not only sparked teamwork but also nurtured critical thinkingall while sharing lots of laughter.

Every moment reflects our commitment to making learning joyful, relevant, and full of heart for our nursery Lion cubs.

Year 4 Students Dance for a Cause: Helping Ming in Guangzhou

Written by Ms. Jenny, Oct. 2025

Year 4 students have shown incredible compassion and initiative by organising a series of school discos to raise funds for 18-year-old Ming, a young man living in Guangzhou with muscular dystrophy. Ming has never been able to walk and relies entirely on his wheelchair for mobility and access to fresh air. When his wheelchair broke recently, he was left confined indoors, unable to enjoy the outside world.

Determined to help, Year 4 rallied the school community and plan to host discos for students in Years 1 through to 5. Their target is to raise an impressive 4,764 RMB. Of this, 2,900 RMB will go towards repairing Mings wheelchair, restoring his independence and ability to go outside. The remaining funds will be used to purchase eight cans of ENDURE powdered milk, a vital nutritional supplement that supports Mings health. This thoughtful gesture ensures Ming not only regains mobility but also receives the nourishment he needs.

The fundraising campaign has inspired students, teachers, and parents alike, highlighting the power of empathy and teamwork. Year 4s dedication has made a real difference in Mings life, proving that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

The Beauty of Scientific Inquiry – Exploring Osmosis with Potatoes

Written by Ms. Moi, Oct. 2025

Today, the AEP Science classroom was filled with curiosity and excitement. Students became little scientists as they carried out an osmosis experiment—using potato strips and salt solutions of different concentrations to observe how their properties changed over time.

Under the teacher’s guidance, each group carefully measured, recorded, and compared their results. As the experiment went on, students noticed clear differences in the weight of the potato strips: some became lighter, while others gained weight slightly.

They eagerly discussed their findings and tried to explain the scientific reasons behind the changes.

Through this hands-on experiment, students not only understood the concept of osmosis more deeply, but also experienced the true joy of scientific exploration.

By collecting data, analyzing results, and working collaboratively, they developed valuable skills in observation, reasoning, and teamwork.

Moments like these—when science becomes visible and alive—are what truly ignite a passion for learning.

Bridging the Digital Divide: Why AI and Coding Matter

Written by Mr. David, Oct. 2025

The world is rapidly evolving with technology, making it essential for our students to understand the language of the digital age: coding. In STEAM class, we’re not just preparing students for future careers; we’re empowering them to be active participants in a world shaped by Artificial Intelligence.

AI already influences our daily lives, from personalized recommendations to smart assistants. To thrive, our students need to understand not only how to use technology, but also how to communicate with it at a basic level. This is where coding comes in.

Coding is the technological backbone of our STEAM curriculum, and it’s never too early to start! Our students learn the fundamental principles of computational thinking from a young age. Starting in Year 2, students use intuitive block-based coding to create simple lines of code. They apply these skills to run digital characters like Minecraft’s Steve and, excitingly, to bring physical creations to life. Using our dozens of VEX GO and VEX IQ kits, students explore the boundaries of building, powering, and coding robots and cars.

This hands-on experience is key to demystifying AI and technology, ensuring our students can shape, rather than just react to the future.
