Each week, teachers from different sections of BIS share what has been happening in their classrooms and across the school. From creative projects and hands-on learning to new discoveries and meaningful experiences, this is a glimpse into the many ways our students learn, explore and grow.

CLASS ACTIVITY – Nursery Tiger Cubs
Written by Mr. Steven, September 2026
After one month in our new classroom, with new friends, new teachers, and a new environment, the Nursery Tiger Cubs are truly settled in and are all engaged learners! We have begun our academic year by learning all about ourselves and our bodies. For some this, this is brand new information in a fairly new language, while for others, it’s a review of the basics they already know. But this mix of abilities works wonders in improving everyone’s confidence!A great activity to really engage with this topic has been creating our own person to decorate and label with the different body parts we have been learning. We started with one boy lying on a large piece of KT board, and having his outline drawn. Then, the children were able to identify where the head, shoulders, chest, arms, hands, tummy, legs, and feet were, and decorate them in their own unique ways. Instructed by the children, I think made labels for each of these body parts so the whole thing could be used a decoration outside the classroom. But then they noticed something else they wanted to include – facial features! With those then added to and labelled with the beautiful KT board body, we all happily put up the new class decoration!
